Enter through the main gate on Paseo de los Mártires but immediately head left toward the English garden section rather than following the crowds to the French parterres.

Most visitors stick to the main paths and miss the small wooden bridges and secluded benches scattered throughout the English woodland area where the peacocks actually roost.

The stone gazebo overlooking the lake offers the best Sierra Nevada views in the entire garden, especially in late afternoon when the light hits the mountains perfectly.
