The scale is industrial: massive warehouses covered in street art, shipping containers converted into studios and restaurants, and Europe's largest monthly flea market (IJ-Hallen, first weekend of the month, EUR6 entry). Pllek, a beach bar built from shipping containers on the waterfront, serves food and drinks with views back across the IJ toward the city. The free NDSM ferry from Centraal takes 15 minutes.
